I was born in London and have been resident in the Borough of Lewisham for many years. I love this community dearly.
My career has taken multiple turns but my work has always been people-centred, where communication and serving others directly has been the mainstay of the job.
I have worked as a Samaritan and am a certified coach because helping others through difficulties is something I have always felt compelled to do.
My professional background is as a vocalist and performer. This led to the area I have been working in for twelve years, as a choir director and musical workshop leader in and around London.
I was drawn to celebrancy after becoming friends with someone who has been working in the sector for seven years, and to hear him talk about his work was so inspiring. He allowed me to shadow him for a period and talked to me in detail about the process of the work. I knew it would be right for who I am and what I can offer as a person, so I went on to train with the premier celebrant training company in the UK and am now a proud member of the organisation: https://professionalcelebrants.org.uk/
Terri Negus, the founder of the company, has 20 years experience in celebrancy. She is considered one of the best in the country, so I was honoured to be trained by her personally.
